Introducing the Keyanote!
Using an intuitive patent pending tab system, the Keyanote is a unique tool designed to make learning scales and chords a breeze for beginner to intermediate piano players. Our vision is that the future of Keyanote’s methodology will be universally recognized as the most empowering piano training tool on the market.
Why Learn Scales & Chords?
Learning scales and chords in music, especially on the piano, is critical because they're like the ABCs and words of music. Just like you need letters to make words, musicians need scales and chords to create good music. They give us a set of rules and patterns to follow so we can make melodies and harmonies that sound great together. Plus, when we practice scales and chords, we improve our finger dexterity and get better at navigating the piano!
Easy as 1, 2, 3!
1) Discover the Joy of Making Music!
Simply choose a scale or chord from the cards provided, or on the "how-to" page, then using the patent pending tab system, flip open the tabs that match. Easy peasy!
2) Set the Stage for Your Musical Adventure!
Place the Keyanote on the back end of the keys so that the first open tab (tab 1 or 2) is lined up over the first note of the scale or chord. If you need help navigating the keyboard, refer to the piano keys chart on the "how-to" page.
3) Practice, Practice, Practice!
Crack your knuckles and simply play the keys that are aligned with the OPEN GREEN TABS. Just remember, the bottom odd numbered tabs are assigned to the white keys, and the top even numbered tabs are assigned to the black keys. Most importantly, relax your shoulders and HAVE FUN!
